We'll make sure you look your best on the World Wide Web!

We use reliable web design tools |
There are dozens of factors to consider in designing your site, including minimizing the size of your graphics files, so they'll load quickly for visitors with slow connections, and making sure your graphics have descriptions that can be seen on browsers which display only text. Such browsers are in use at many public libraries, by the vision-impaired, and by those with very slow or expensive connections.
We take all the extra steps, including working closely with you on planning, reviewing your existing promotional materials and discussing your goals for your site, so that your pages accurately and effectively communicate your message to your viewers. We make sure that all of your pages are accessible, regardless of which browser your visitors use. We also employ the most reliable of the latest design tools. But we never forget that while creating a website has many highly technical elements, in the end you're still publishing something about your organization or yourself.
...or you can do it yourself!
Many of our clients come to us with the desire to do all or a portion of their own design, but to have us host their site and act as their personal web design coach.
The basic design of a website, once HTML is mastered, is a relatively simple and straightforward process. With a little knowledge almost anyone can design a rudimentary page for display on the World Wide Web. The text below at the left, when read using web browsing software, will produce the web page seen below at the right:
<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>
My Home Page
</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
<H1>
This Is My Home Page.
</H1>
This is where I
write about me!
</BODY>
</HTML>

We enjoy working with our clients to bring them up to speed on web design. While we help as much as they want with design, we're also careful to point out the potential pitfalls. For instance, there are more than 200 varieties of web browsers in use on the Internet. They all interpret web pages differently. A knowledge of how to write valid (technically compliant) HTML is critical if you want your page to be accessible to all visitors.
Some "WYSIWYG" (what-you-see-is-what-you-get) web design software allows you to avoid the use of HTML altogether and offers many shortcuts to help you quickly create your pages, but in doing so it can often insert non-valid HTML, which on some browsers can cause your page to display improperly, or not at all.
But regardless of how you wish to develop your website, you can rely on us to be here when you need us.
