Be it ever so humble... NOT!
While we feel it's a huge advantage (to us and our clients) that we design websites and consult from a home-based office, we wouldn't think of hosting our clients' websites from a home-based server. The reasons are many, but they boil down to security, reliability, and technical expertise.
The layout of our hosting facility |
Our servers are housed and supported at one of the most impressive, state-of-the-art hosting facilities in the world - the 14,000 square foot state-of-the-art data center at the San Diego Technology Center in San Diego, CA - where more than 200 people are employed serving hundreds of thousands of customers with Intel & Sun Microsystems-based servers, running on a Cisco network, backed by an IBM data storage system.
 Racks of servers |
Security is provided via redundant biometric and coded access points, along with 24-hour video surveillance.
We're not alone in feeling comfortable at our "home" - other residents include:
- AT&T
- Time Warner
- MCI
- Sony
- Level 3
- SBC
- and many more...
The facility features direct fiber optic connectivity to eight major Internet backbones, each with its own entry point, uninterruptible power from multiple UPS systems and backup generators, and sophisticated climate control, for an ideal hosting environment.
