User Guide
This page contains all the settings you should need to configure access to the services provided by ABC Internet.
Please note that when you see items in bold red text below, it indicates that you should use your own domain name and/or username.
Example: If your username is "bob" and your domain is "abc123.com" and we ask you to use the setting username@yourdomain.com, you should use bob@abc123.com. |
Email
- To configure your email account using Eudora*:
*please visit PC Mall if you're interested in buying this email software (we highly recommend it!)
- Open Eudora and from the menu near the top of the screen select "Tools"
- Select "Personalities"
- Right click on <dominant> and left click on "New" (if you're creating a new email account) or highlight an existing email account and select "Properties" (if you're editing an existing email account)
- Use the following settings:
- Real Name = [oddly enough, most people use their real name]
- Email Address = username@yourdomain.com
- Username = username@yourdomain.com
- SMTP (outgoing) Server = [whatever your local ISP tells you to use]
- Incoming Server = mail.yourdomain.com
- NOTE: You'll be asked for your password the first time you check your email (check the 'remember password' box to avoid this in the future) - please contact us if you forget it.
- The remainder of the settings should stay as they are, unless you're instructed otherwise by your local ISP.
- Click OK or save.
- To configure your email account using Microsoft Outlook & Outlook Express:
- Open Outlook or Outlook Express and from the menu near the top of the screen select "Tools"
- Select "Accounts"
- Select the "Mail" tab
- Click the "Add:" button and select "Mail" (if you're creating a new email account) or highlight the account you wish to edit and click on the "Properties" button (if you're editing an existing email account)
- Use the following settings:
- Real Name = [just as it implies, feel free to use your real name!]
- Email Address = username@yourdomain.com
- Username = username@yourdomain.com
- SMTP (outgoing) Server = [whatever your local ISP tells you to use]
- Incoming Server = mail.yourdomain.com
- NOTE: You'll be asked for your password the first time you check your email (check the 'remember password' box to avoid this in the future) - please contact us if you forget it.
- The remainder of the settings should stay as they are, unless you're instructed otherwise by your local ISP.
- Click OK or save.
- To access your email account using WebMail
- Open any web browser and in the location field type: http://webmail.yourdomain.com/horde/index.php
- Username (your email address) = username@yourdomain.com
- Password = [use the email password you were previously provided]
- To administer your email account via Plesk
- Open any web browser and in the location field type: https://174.36.188.12:8443/login.php3
- Username = username@yourdomain.com
- Password = [use the email password you were previously provided]
- To change your password use "Preferences"
- To redirect your email to another address (if you have permission) use "Redirect"
- To create an autoresponder and an attachment (if you have permission) use "Autoresponder"
- To alter your spam filter settings and your black list (always block) and white list (never block) use "Spam Filter"
- To "train" your spam filter about the email you consider spam go to "Spam Filter" and then to "Training"
FTP (File Transfer Protocol)
- Hostname = ftp.yourdomain.com
- Default directory = /httpdocs
- Username & password = [use the FTP username & password you were provided]
Webalizer (Website Activity Tracking)
- URL = https://yourdomain.com/plesk-stat/webstat/
- Username & password = [use the FTP username & password you were provided]

AWStats (Advanced Website Activity Tracking*)
- http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/awstats.pl?config=yourdomain.com
- Username & password = [use the FTP username & password you were provided]
